Although over two-thirds of Polish viewers look upon the development of terrestrial TV services favourably, their ideal multiplex would contain such services as HBO, Discovery and Canal+ in its channel line-up.
At the same time, according to the findings of the latest study (Projekt Cyfrowizja IV) by the agency Wavemaker, they would most like to see the channel TV Trwam dropped from the current DTT line-up.
The study shows that 68% of all viewers, and 71% that solely watch terrestrial TV, are of the opinion that DTT services are much better in Poland than they used to be.
The four new commercial channels on Mux-8 – Nowa TV, Metro, Zoom TV and WP – are all growing in popularity despite difficult beginnings. On the other hand, viewers say that there is still a serious lack on foreign movies, documentaries, foreign series and sport on DTT.
HBO is top of their wish list (12% of respondents), followed by Discovery (9%), Canal (6%), Nat Geo (5%) and Polsat Sport (4%), with Eleven Sports scoring 2%.
At the same time 38% would like to see TV Trwam dropped, followed by Polo TV (18%) and TVP1, TVP Info and TVP2 (14%, 11% and 11% respectively).
When asked which channels they would most miss on DTT, 34% said Polsat, 34% TVN, 17% TVP2, 17% TVP1 and 15% TVN.
