Jörg Graf (pictured), currently Chief Operating Officer Programme Affairs at Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, will become the new managing director of German TV channel RTL on February 1, 2019.
The 52-year-old succeeds Frank Hoffmann (52), who is leaving Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland after 28 years at his own request and by mutual agreement. For the past six years he has headed RTL. No details were given on the reasons for Hoffmann’s departure and his plans for the future.
Sascha Schwingel (47) will become the new managing director of TV channel VOX in early summer 2019, succeeding Bernd Reichart, who assumed overall responsibility for Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland as CEO on January 1. Schwingel comes from the ARD subsidiary Degeto, where he has been in charge of the editorial and programme management department since 2016.
Henning Tewes (46), currently CEO of RTL Croatia, will join Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland as Chief Operating Officer Programme Affairs & Multichannel as soon as a successor at RTL Croatia has been appointed. He will then take over the current area of responsibility from Jörg Graf, which will be expanded to include responsibility for TV channel RTLplus.
In addition, Tewes will also be responsible for the German media company’s increased cooperation within the RTL Group in the development of new formats. Until then, Graf will continue to perform his previous duties on a temporary basis.
