The Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission (RTK) says it will ask YouTube to remove a video clip from the Russian language channel Rossiya 24.
According to the regulator, it contains humiliating information on Lithuanian and Latvian partisans during the Second World War.
RTK adds that it will also launch an investigation into the “prohibited information” shown on Rossiya 24.
In a report on the move, Baltic Times says that the clip was not rebroadcast in Lithuania and only appears on YouTube.
In its statement, RTK also says that at its next meeting it will consider the issue of the Latvian-registered Russian language broadcaster First Baltic Channel Lithuania and the “disinformation” in a programme it carried on January 13, the day the events in Vilnius in 1991 are commemorated.
