The M7 Group-owned Czech and Slovak DTH platform Skylink will launch a new channel next month.
Rozhlas.cz reports that it will be known as Skylink 7 and make its debut on February 7, replacing the existing service Skylink Tasting.
It adds that Skylink 7 will be broadcast by M7 Group, employing the Luxembourg licence where M7 Group is based and distributed via Astra 3B and 23.5 degrees East.
Quoting Jaromir Glisnik, a member of the board at M7 Group, Rozhlas.cz also says that Skylink 7 will be broadcast in six-hour blocks, with the premiere always starting at 18.00. It will offer a selection of channels from all genres, including film (AMC, FilmBox, Film Europe and others) sport (Sport.tv, Golf Channel), documentaries (Viasat, Spektrum), music (Stingray) and kids (CS Film, Minimax).
In a separate development, Skylink has announced a change to its price list in the Czech Republic. Effective March 1, it will see the service fee increased to CZK1,399 (€54.6) for 12 months and CZK2,399 for 24 months.
Skylink notes that the fee is changed only once every two years and is around the same level as in Slovakia.
Meanwhile, the cost of the Smart package will be increased for the first time in three years to CZK259 a month.
