The Discovery Channel executive who was poised to take over as chief executive of the Premier League is no longer taking up the role.
In a statement the Premier League said despite her commitment to the Premier League in early November, Susanna Dinnage had now advised the Nominations Committee that she will not be taking up the position of Chief Executive.
It’s understood Dinnage will remain at Discovery where she was Global President of Animal Planet.
At the time Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck described her as the “outstanding choice” from a strong field of candidates.
Dinnage herself said “It represents the pinnacle of professional sport and the opportunity to lead such a dynamic and inspirational organisation is a great privilege. With the support of clubs and the team, I look forward to extending the success of the League for many years to come.”
The committee has now renewed its search.
