at800has confirmed it will continue to offer help to UK households affected by interference from mobile TV masts through to the end of 2020.
It follows continued expansion from the mobile sector of 4G services in the 800 MHz band close to frequencies occupied by terrestrial broadcasters.
Since 2013 the industry-backed programme has helped over 260,000 households.
Ben Roome, CEO of Digital Mobile Spectrum Limited (DMSL) the company that runs the at800 programme, said: “Mobile operators are continuously improving their 4G service and want to ensure this does not inconvenience Freeview viewers. Continuing to offer support via at800 allows operators to focus on their core business, while we fix any issues this may cause to TV reception.”
At800 has been able to resolve the majority of problems with a filter that fits onto the aerial lead connection to TVs and set-top boxes, to block mobile signals.
