According to the findings of Projekt Cyfrowizja 1V, published by the agency Wavemaker, they have been particularly put off by the cost of subscriptions and the lack of interesting channels in offers. Those most inclined (30%) to abandon pay-TV services are customers paying over PLN100 (€23.3) a month.
This group are also the most active in using SVOD services. At the same time, customers find the channels Discovery, TVN 24 and Polsat Sport the biggest reason to prevent them from cutting the cord.
Commenting on the findings, Izabela Albrychiewicz, president of Wavemaker, said: “Although these numbers look alarming, the percentage of potential “cord-cutters” has not increased in comparison to previous years, despite the development of SVOD and digital terrestrial television. Undoubtedly, however, pay-TV operators have a large segment of “sensitive” customers. Around 2 million households paying today for access to traditional TV are looking for alternatives”.
