ANACOM has ordered transmission company MEO to reduce annual transmission costs in the DTT sector by 15.16%.
It means the annual price of transmission on Portugal’s DTT platform will be reduced to €885,100 per Mbps.
The cost is what MEO charges RTP, SIC and TVI and was decided following a 30-day public consultation and extension period.
MEO now has 10 working days to notify the broadcasters of the new prices.
The reduction came about after ANACOM found the charges exceeded the price limit in the bid to operate the country’s Multiplex A.
