Vodafone has already created a team to prepare an integration strategy with UPC Romania.
Speaking to Ziarul Financiar, Murielle Lorilloux, CEO of Vodafone Romania, said that the team is working on every area of activity, ranging from commercial to IT and human resources.
She added that one of the biggest challenges is likely to be the integration of systems, as each company has their own and transforming them into fully convergent service will take time.
However, the benefits are likely to be seen in the first few months.
Lorilloux also stressed that whilst this preparation is taking place the two companies continue to compete.
Vodafone’s acquisition of Liberty Global’s assets in three CEE markets (Romania, Hungary and the Czech Republic), as well as in Germany, is awaiting the approval of the European Commission and expected to close in 2019.
