YouView has promoted from within, naming Susie Buckridge as its new CEO.
Buckridge replaces Richard Halton, who announced his intention to leave the IPTV platform earlier this year.
The former Cap Gemini and Ernst and Young consultant has also previously worked for the BBC as its head of strategy in future media and the business strategy team.
During her time at YouView, Buckridge has been responsible for partnerships and commercial affairs, rising to Director of Product and more recently, working with Halton and the Board to agree a new shareholder agreement.
Simon Duffy, Chairman of YouView said: “We are delighted to announce Susie Buckridge as YouView’s new CEO. We have selected a strong leader who knows the team, the shareholders and the market well and who is stepping up into this significant new role at an exciting moment in YouView’s history.”
Susie Buckridge said: “It is a great privilege to become CEO of such a successful British technology company. Richard Halton’s strong leadership means I will be leading a company at the forefront of the media industry. Our continued mission will be to work with our seven shareholders, harnessing their combined strength in the UK market to bring new TV products and services to consumers.”
YouView commenced its life as a vehicle for the public services broadcasters on DTT, but the requirement to bring in more shareholders has seen the award-winning platform provide the portal to the IPTV services of shareholders BT and TalkTalk.
As a standalone service Smart TV manufacturers are now more likely to opt for Freeview Plus in which BBC, ITV and Channel 4 also have a stake.
