Vodafone Spain is to give its customers 12 months free access to Amazon Prime Video.
It’s the latest example of an operator acting as an aggregator for digital services and follows a similar move by Orange in the Spanish market.
Amazon Prime will be incorporated into Vodafone’s One and Red packages.
Andrés Vicente, Director of the Private Individuals Unit of Vodafone Spain, said: “We are delighted that our Clients can benefit from the most demanded services at all times. In addition, from January 8, customers will be able to choose Amazon Prime among the included services with their pricing plans.”
Vodafone already includes Netflix and HBO amongst its packages, but the actual integration of Amazon into its technology platform is yet to be completed.
It’s planned to fully integrate Amazon as soon as possible, but in the meantime, subscribers will need to use Amazon’s own app to take advantage of the offer.
