HD milestone for Tricolor TV

November 30, 2018 07.00 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Russia’s leading DTH platform operator had 10 million connected HD subscribers as of last month (November).

This, said the company in a statement, represented over 60% of all viewers in the country who watch HD services. It also put Tricolor TV in second place worldwide in terms of HD subscribers in the satellite segment just six years after it began to offer services.

DirecTV is in top spot with 18.9 million and Dish Network (9.8 million) and Sky (8.4 million) occupy third and fourth positions.

All told, 82% of Tricolor TV subscribers now have access to its HD services. Its main package includes 44 channels in the format, with viewers also being offered eight proprietary HD movie channels in additional packages.

Over 4 million Tricolor TV customers can watch 28 HD in its Online TV service on the Android TV platform.
