Andrea Zappia has been named as Sky’s new chief executive in Continental Europe.
The announcement of the new role was made in an internal memo from group chief executive Jeremy Darroch.
It creates a vacancy for the head of Sky Italia.
Zappia will be responsible for all markets outside the UK and Ireland, effectively adding Germany, Austria and Switzerland to his portfolio.
Carsten Schmidt will retain his role as CEO for Germany, Austria and Switzerland and will now report to Zappia.
