Poland’s second largest cable operator Vectra is still in talks to buy the third largest Multimedia Polska despite a prospective deal having been shelved at the beginning of this month.
Wirtualne Media reports that despite a notication from Multimedia Polska signalling the end of talks, they are in fact still continuing.
Furthermore, the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has confirmed that the proceedings examining the proposed deal have not been ended as the two parties have returned to the negotiating table.
Tomasz Zuranski, the president of Vectra, has decided to proceed with the application submitted to UOKiK irrespective of whether or not the transaction takes place.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Vectra filed a notification with UOKIK on August nofifying it of its intention to buy Multimedia Polska.
