Vewd announces partnership with FlixLatino

November 14, 2018 14.23 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Vewd has announced a partnership with FlixLatino, an OTT service for the US Hispanic demographic.

FlixLatino has certified its popular streaming app, making it immediately available for all Vewd-enabled devices and adding it to the Vewd App Store which can be found on a variety of connected TV devices from Sony, Samsung, HiSense, TiVo, Vestel, and many others.

FlixLatino is a Spanish-language streaming video-on-demand service focused on the Hispanic market in the US and Puerto Rico. For $2.99 each month, viewers can enjoy more than 800 premium, theatrically-released films from Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Cuba, Spain, and other Spanish-speaking regions.

“We’re excited to expand our reach with Vewd and its large footprint of Vewd-enabled devices in the U.S.,” said Luis Guillermo Villanueva, Chief Operating Officer of SOMOS Next.

“By certifying our app for Vewd, we’ve removed all the headaches of managing different app platforms. They focus on all of the compatibility issues, while we can focus on bringing the best Spanish-language content and expanding our subscriber base.”

“The U.S. Hispanic market, and especially Hispanic millennials have rapidly embraced streaming content,” said Juliana Psaros, Head of Content Partnerships for Latin America at Vewd.

“Now these consumers are demanding more relevant, Spanish-language content and smart TV manufacturers and pay TV operators need an easy way to offer this content. By choosing certification, we make it easy for manufacturers and operators to offer FlixLatino and strengthen their OTT offering for all customers.”
