Zee5 joins NetRange’s smart TV platform

November 9, 2018 13.05 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Zee5, the new international OTT service operated by Indian broadcaster Zee Entertainment Enterprises, will become available as an app on all NetRange smart TV platforms across its global network.

The move is based on a strategic partnership Zee formed with NetRange, the German provider of white-label smart TV and OTT ecosystems.

Zee5 offers multi-genre content including news and entertainment in 12 languages: English, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Oriya, Bhojpuri, Gujarati and Punjabi.

The OTT service features more than 100,000 hours of on-demand content such as movies, TV shows, music, health and lifestyle programmes as well as original productions. Zee5 also comprises livestreams of more than 60 TV channels.

“Our partnership with NetRange is a natural progression in our vision of bringing the best of Indian language content to audiences globally on any device of their choice,” said Archana Anand, Chief Business Officer of Zee5 Global. “NetRange is one of the pioneers of smart TV and OTT ecosystems, and we are delighted to partner with them to make Zee5 available to their users around the world.”

The Zee5 app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and iOS App Store and can be accessed by visiting www.zee5.com. Other platforms in the pipeline include Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV and Connected TV.
