Canal+ has won the rights to the Premier League for the next three seasons, regaining the French rights to English top-flight football from Altice’s RMC Sport.
In Poland, Canal has renewed an existing contract.
Canal+ and NC+ will both carry the full programme of Premier League matches starting in 2019 until 2022.
“Winning back the Premier League rights reflects the Group’s drive to invest in premium content over time and to offer an unparalleled football offering, primarily on its own channels,” the broadcaster said in a statement.
Canal’s domestic sports channels have rights to French Ligue 3 football, the League Cup and the Women’s World Cup and top French league, the French Top14 French rugby league, Formula 1, Moto GP, WRC, Golf and the 2020 Olympics.
In Poland it has rights to Lotto Ekstraklasa, La Liga, German Bundesliga matches, NBA, PGE Ekstraliga and Speedway Grand Prix.
Whilst a blow to the RMC brand, Altice said it would continue to work with Canal on the supply of Champions League football.
