Some of Russia’s leading TV and internet industry players have signed an anti-piracy memorandum.
According to Telesputnik, they represent rights holders, the operators of search services and owners of internet resources.
The rights holders include Channel One, National Media Group (NMG), Gazprom Media and the Internet Video Association, which lists the OTT services Ivi, Megogo, TVZavr, Amediateka and VIP Viasat Play among its members.
Among the ISPs are Yandex, Rambler Group and Mail.Ru.
The main aim of the signatories is to remove links in search engines to sites that contain unlicensed content, and they will create a register of such sites within three weeks of signing the memorandum.
Such links will then have to be removed within six hours of appearing in searches.
The entire process will be overseen by the regulator Roskomnadzor.
