The Hungarian General Court has upheld a fine close to HUF 143 million (€440,000) on RTL Klub, one of the country’s leading commercial broadcasters.
In a statement, the regulator NMHH says that it initially imposed a fine on RTL Klub in 2011 for a total of 21 episodes and pre-releases of the fourth series of the reality show Való Világ 4 (Real World 4).
Violations included inappropriate age ratings and covert advertising.
It adds that following seven years of court proceedings, the violations were upheld in the case of 20 episodes and pre-releases and a fine totalling HUF142,724,884 imposed on RTL Klub.
