Eutelsat has become the latest satellite operator to see its financials dip.
But CEO Rodolphe Belmer said the underlying performance of its five key areas remained “broadly in line with expectations”.
First quarter revenues of €334 million fell by 1.8% on a like-for-like basis.
Video, which represents 65% of the Paris-based company’s revenues came in at 217.2 million. The 1.7% fall was attributed to a particularly high-single-digit decline in Professional Video.
As of 30 September 2018, the total number of channels broadcast by Eutelsat satellites stood at 6,999, up 3.6% year-on-year. The number of HD channels stood at 1,419 versus 1,210 a year earlier, up by 17% and represented 20.3% of channels compared to 17.9% a year earlier.
Core Broadcast revenues remained stable, while Mobile Connectivity saw further double-digit growth.
In Government Services Eutelsat experienced a one-off contract loss previously held with the US government.
