Russia’s Rambler Group is to adopt a new strategy related to its OTT service Okko.
Kommersant reports that the brand Okko will be expanded to encompass movies and other content, both online and offline, thereby creating an ecosystem of entertainment content on different screens. The rebranding will take around a year and is likely to cost at least R400 million (€5.34 million).
In early 2019 Rambler Group plans to launch a single service under a common brand, offering a subscription to cinemas and to the Okko OTT service.
The company operates the cinema chains Cinema Park and Formula Kino.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, it acquired the OTT service Okko in March this year.
