The Ukrainian incumbent Ukrtelecom saw a 35% increase in new connections for its interactive TV service in September thanks to the switch off of analogue services in the country.
In its latest set of results the company also notes that it ended Q3 with 1.38 million internet subscribers, adding that ADSL customers in 58 population centres were offered FTTB connections.
Q3 revenues amounted to UAH1.644 billion (€50.5 million), or 3% more than in the corresponding period in 2017. Although those for telecom services remained stable at UAH1.371 billion, internet services income rose by 9%.
EBITDA amounted to almost UAH502 million, with the EBITDA margin at 30.5%.
Net profit for the first nine months of the year, at UAH450 million, was down on 2017. That for Q3 amounted to UAH160 million.
Ukrtelecom has been majority owned by the SCM Group since 2013.
