MTG’s Nordic Entertainment division produced an eighth consecutive quarter of higher sales and profits.
As free-TV sales fell it was the streaming service Viaplay that more than filled in the black numbers, while there was also growth in the Swedish radio business.
Free TV was affected in part by the availability of the 2018 World Cup on rival channels during the reporting period.
The company recorded a total net income of SEK 192 million, compared to SEK 177 million in the same period of 2017.
Viaplay is excluded from pay-TV at 946,000 subscribers, roughly at the same level as in 2017.
Kinnevik withdrew from MTG in August in order to facilitate the EU approval of the Tele2 / ComHem merger. The NENT Group is slated to split from MTG with its own listing from March 2019.
