M7 Group has launched its smart TV app on webOS for LG TVs in Belgium.
This follows the recent introduction of the app for Samsung TVs, allowing subscribers or Telesat and TV Vlaanderen to access their pay-TV services over the smart TV.
LG is the second-largest TV maker in Europe, after Samsung. M7 said the deal will give it access to over 50 percent of European TV households with a smart TV. The availability of the LG smart TV app was first announced during IBC 2018 i Amsterdam.
The M7 TV app enables users of webOS-based LG TV sets to access linear and non-linear TV content in HD quality through a central user interface and without the need of a set-top-box. Furthermore, it offers interactive features such as live restart, pause TV and access to media libraries as well as digital services like cloud recording and an electronic programme guide (EPG).
The M7 app is available on all LG TV sets starting from 2015 (webOS 3.0).
