It seems Mediaset is wasting no time in the reorganisation of its Premium business.
The Italian DTT platform is in the process of handing control of its operations to Sky, though editorial responsibility would remain with the media giant.
The process began in March, when an agreement was reached to carry selected Sky channels on Mediaset Premium with a reciprocal arrangement that has already seen the Mediaset brand appear on Sky, beginning with Canale 5 last month.
Sole 24 Ore reports that some 130 employees in customer services and marketing would transfer to Sky along with the contact with Nagra for the content security of the platform in what is ostensibly an outsourcing arrangement.
No objection is expected from either the competition authorities or the media regulator.
