Animal Planet’s familiar leaping elephant logo is being reimagined as part of a new global brand identity.
The new logo will begin a phased rollout in the United States and the UK on October 28, 2018. It will be introduced across the remaining countries and territories by the end of the first quarter of 2019.
Behind the work is New York-based graphic design firm Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv (CGH). The new marque has been optimised for use across multiple platforms. CGH is already responsible for logos currently in use by NBC, Showtime, PBS, NYU, Chase Bank and US Open.
“Animal Planet has been a much-loved brand around the world for more than 20 years and the time has never been more right to engage with mass audiences across every platform who are as passionate about animals as we are,” said Animal Planet Global President Susanna Dinnage. “We are able to reach all generations through our content and storytelling – we are here to entertain and delight by bringing people up close to animals and nature.”
Animal Planet is available in 360 million homes in more than 205 countries and territories.
