Mediawan Thematics will rebrand its motor sport channel AB Moteurs on November 5 as Automoto La Chaîne.
This launch follows a partnership signed in July between Mediawan, the parent company of the AB group, and TF1 channel on the Automoto brand license, which is a locally famous motor sports programme on the French channel la Une.
The re-branded channel aims to offer “the best of the lifestyle car and motorcycle through original, embodied shows presented by experts and strong personalities”, and most of the
flagship motor sport competitions such as NASCAR and WADA Supercross.
Automoto is the first channel launched by Mediawan, the group of investors Pierre-Antoine Capton, Xavier Niel and Matthieu Pigasse, who bought the AB production house and broadcaster in 2017.
Mediawan operates 19 pay-TV channels, including RTL9 in France, AB3, AB4 in Belgium, and thematic channels including Chasse & Pêche, Science & Vie TV and the Golf Channel as well as a catalogue of
12,000 hours.
AB Moteurs is now carried on Canal+, Orange, Free, SFR,Bouygues, Bis, and available OTT on the Molotov and Watch it platforms.
