The Albanian prime minister Edi Rama has said Telekom Albania will not be sold to a Serbian company.
Speaking in a press conference and quoted by the local media and B92, he added that the Albanian government’s position is “very simple and clear”. While Serbian companies are welcome in Albania, they are not in a strategic sector like telecommunications.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Telekom Srbija has expressed an interest in buying Telekom Albania, which is ultimately backed by Deutsche Telekom.
It is understood to have offered €60 million for the company.
