The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is establishing a new subsidiary to handle its business services.
Eurovision Services SA will officially start trading on January 1, 2019. It will be fully owned by the EBU and based in Geneva, Switzerland. The department is currently known as Eurovision Media Services.
Noel Curran, EBU Director General said the proactive move was designed to react to the changing media landscape. “Business services is a core field of activity for the EBU alongside Member services, and it is vital that it maintains and grows its position as the media industry’s premier producer and distributor of high-quality live news, sport and entertainment content, to better anticipate and meet the needs of all its stakeholders.”
Eurovision Services will be led by Chief Executive Officer, Marco Tinnirello, reporting to a Board of Directors.
