The UK’s Premier League will return to German pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland in the coming season.
The new agreement, which has now been concluded, runs from 2019/20 to 2021/22. During the three-year term, Sky will be the only broadcaster in Germany and Austria showing the Premier League live and exclusively.
The agreement also includes the exclusive German-language rights in Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.
In December 2015, UK-based Perform Group snatched the Premier League rights from long-time rights holder Sky Deutschland for its streaming service DAZN. The three-year contract runs from 2016/17 to 2018/19.
The agreement concluded with Sky Deutschland covers the exclusive live broadcasting rights via cable and satellite as well as IPTV, web and mobile. Subscribers to the Sky Sport package will thus be able to watch the live games on linear television as well as via streaming service Sky Go.
Football fans who don’t have a Sky subscription, can watch the matches via streaming service Sky Ticket. The Premier League coverage will also be available in Sky sports bars and Sky hotels.
