Karen Leever has been promoted to president of US digital products and marketing at Discovery.
Reporting to Peter Faricy, CEO, global direct to consumer, she will continue to oversee the company’s suite of 18 TV Everywhere GO apps and manage the design, development, engineering, analytics, operations and monetisation of the company’s growing US digital businesses. Additionally, she will spearhead Discovery’s domestic direct-to-consumer endeavours.
Commenting on the promotion, David Zaslav, president and CEO, Discovery, said: “Over the past three years, Karen has brought us where we are today with GO, building an incredibly successful, mobile-first TV everywhere business that our super fans love and helping to attract new, younger audiences to our brands and programmes.

Leever most recently served as executive VP and general manager of Digital Media at Discovery, during which time she launched the company’s mobile-first suite of TV Everywhere GO apps and led their strategy, design and development.
Prior to joining Discovery she spent 10 years at DirecTV, most recently as senior VP, digital and direct sales. Earlier, she was at kmart.com, HSN and QVC. She also sits on the boards of Express, Inc. and Group Nine Media.
