Pierre Lescure is leaving the Lagardère SCA supervisory board with immediate effect.
His departure follows the announcement of his new role as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of a major audiovisual company, as yet unnamed, but insiders believe Lescure is taking ups this role with Mediawan, , the media investment fund created by Matthieu Pigasse, Xavier Niel and Pierre-Antoine Capton.
The Lagardère supervisory board unanimously decided to appoint Jamal Benomar, aged 61, to Lescure.
Benomar has 35 years of experience in roles with international responsibility, including as Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General and as Under-Secretary-General. He Benomar has dual British and Moroccan citizenship and lives in New York.
