Slovakia’s Council for Broadcasting and Retransmission (RVR) has awarded a national broadcasting licence to Televizia Slovan, based in Matin.
It has also granted the company Logos Media regional licences for the TV stations Zemplin, Hlivistia and Sobrance.
At the same time, RVR has imposed two fines totalling €28,000 on Mac TV, the operator of TV Joj.
The first, for €20,000, was for exceeding the permitted level of commercial airtime in a programme shown this January, and the second, for €8,000, for broadcasting a programme in the afternoon in February this year that was unsuitable for viewers under the age of 12.
