ProSiebenSat.1 Puls 4 selects Veset for cloud playout

September 14, 2018 11.17 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Austrian media company ProSiebenSat.1 Puls 4 has chosen UK-based broadcast solutions provider Veset for the playout of its OTT service Zappn TV.

Zappn TV delivers a 24/7 free livestream to mobile devices across Austria. The line-up comprises content from channels including Sat.1 Austria, ProSieben Austria and Puls 4 such as TV shows, movies, series, news, sports highlights and comedy shows.

ProSiebenSat.1 Puls 4 is using Veset Cirrus, a cloud playout platform for OTT, to originate the channel which is then distributed using the company’s own app Zappn which was built in-house and introduced in August 2017.

“We are excited to see Zappn TV joining our portfolio. Until now the overwhelming majority of our clients focused on traditional satellite, cable and IPTV distribution,” said Igor Krol, CEO of Veset. “This launch underscores a trend as content owners start proactively use OTT distribution for linear 24/7 channels, going beyond traditional VOD. That is where our cloud playout solutions become critical enablers for new innovative channel originators.”

Veset Cirrus, along with the Veset’s other solutions for enabling cloud playout, will be demonstrated at IBC 2018 in Amsterdam on stand 5.C80.
