SERAPHIC will showcase BBC R&D’s Content Substitution example application at this year’s IBC.
It reveals that a specific linear broadcast programme is able to be replaced with IP-delivered alternative content and can be used to informally test a TV’s implementation of the relevant HbbTV 2 functionality for its ability to perform content substitution in a reliable and timely manner.
Commenting on the development, Xinwen Xue, VP Product at SERAPHIC said, “SERAPHIC’s HbbTV 2 product has accomplished the fundamental requirement for this fantastic feature. It is obvious that addressable terminals are more and more welcome with the capability to support targeting advertising to bring potential revenue for broadcasters and operators. It would also differentiate products on the market and bring more values to manufactures. SERAPHIC is willing to work with more device manufacturers and broadcasters to quickly deploy more commercial products and services with this technology.”
SERAPHIC will be at E12 Hall 14 at IBC 2018.
