Kathy Weidman joins media press group

Media press has announced that Kathy Weidman has joined the company as Head of International Business Development.

Effective immediately, Weidman will oversee business development efforts to expand media press’ presence with international media companies. She will also assist in the development of key strategies for expanding media press’ presence around the world. She will be based in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area.

“Kathy’s metadata, technology, machine learning and AI expertise as well as her extensive experience as a key media leader provides a major opportunity for media press to continue expansion of our metadata business,” said Krzysztof Cechnicki, chairman of the board, media press group.

“I am excited about what we can achieve at media press group.” Kathy Weidman added.

“There has never been a more exciting time for the metadata industry, and there is no doubt that media press is driving this momentum. We are uniquely positioned to support operators, content providers and broadcasters in their efforts to enable best in class TV user experience.”

Weidman joins media press group with extensive international experience with media and entertainment service and technology companies as well as a strong understanding of the metadata needs of customers. She has been a Strategy Advisor at MoonBeam Partners Limited. Prior to MoonBeam, Ms. Weidman was the SVP and general manager at TiVo, Inc. and she also served as managing director of Content Discovery and Metadata for Red Bee Media Limited, now a subsidiary of Ericsson. She has also held leadership roles at Technicolor and Avid Technology.
