The sports channel SPTV was one of the star performers in Croatia’s TV industry last year.
According to Poslovni, this was a huge turnaround for the station, which had until that point operated at a loss since its launch in 2010.
In 2017, its revenues, which used to be around HRK4 million (€537,750), grew to HRK17.4 million, while its net profit amounted to HRK8 million.
SPTV is backed by the Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO) and found itself in fourth place in terms of revenue in 2017 behind the public broadcaster HRT (HRK1,381 million), Nova TV (HRK391.4 million) and RTL (HRK303.9 million).
It was also the 10th most watched TV channel in Croatia this July, according to AGB Nielsen.
