Following the removal of many third-party channels, most recently RTL’s pay-TV channels, Sky Deutschland has decided to keep the Turner channels on its platform.
The partnership with TV broadcaster Turner Deutschland was renewed and expanded, according to the German pay-TV platform operator.
The multi-year agreement covers the further distribution of the five linear channels TNT Serie, TNT Film, TNT Comedy, Boomerang and Cartoon Network. The contract also includes extensive video-on-demand (VOD) rights to TNT Film, TNT Serie and TNT Comedy programmes for Sky Q and streaming service Sky Ticket, and VOD rights to children and youth programmes of Cartoon Network and Boomerang for the Sky Kids app.
In Germany and Austria, TNT Serie SD and HD as well as Cartoon Network and Boomerang will remain available to Sky customers signed up for the Entertainment package via satellite, IPTV and cable.
Since July 2018, TNT Comedy has also been offered to Sky customers on the cable networks of Vodafone and Unitymedia in addition to satellite distribution. TNT Film is now also broadcast in HD quality via satellite in addition to the existing SD distribution.
