Cosmote TV opts for Zenterio

August 30, 2018 10.06 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Greece’s Cosmote TV has deployed an advanced set-top box named the Eurobox (KAON NS 2000) using Zenterio OS.

The latter allows Cosmote TV support internet-delivered, on-demand content in addition to live content.

A new feature Cosmote TV offers with the Eurobox is the ability to use a smart remote application. This allows users to control the Cosmote TV STBs from iOS and Android devices via a modern, customised user interface. The application was created by a local partner in Greece.

As part of the upgrade with Zenterio OS, Cosmote TV has also emhanced its VOD store available to subscribers.

Commenting on the development, Jörgen Nilsson, CEO of Zenterio, said: “We know that today’s television viewers are looking for on-demand content, delivered over the internet, along with linear TV.

“Cosmote TV is staying ahead of this trend with the deployment of its new Eurobox powered by Zenterio OS. This project is a great demonstration of our ability to support complex STB deployments, offering Cosmote TV viewers advanced features like search and playback of on-demand and live content using smart remote control functionalities over iOS and Android devices.”

Zenterio will be at IBC at Balcony Suite 23 and Stand 5.C53.
