Slovenia’s Agency for Communication Networks and Services (AKOS) has awarded a number of pay-DTT licences.
In a statement, the regulator says that following the conclusion of a public tender licences for the use of the non-FTA part of the country’s DTT network were granted to Veseljak TV for Veseljak TV; Autor for Croatian Music Channel – CMC; ASPN for Sport TV and Sport TV Dve (2); United Media for SportKlub 1, SportKlub 2, SportKlub 3, GolfKlub, PikabooVavoom and LoR; Adria News for N1 Today; Fox Networks Bulgaria for National Geographic Channel, 24 Kitchen, Fox Crime, Fox, Fox Movies and FoxLife; AMC Networks Central Europe for Minimax Channel Slovenia and AMC Channel Slovenia; and Viasat World Limited for Viasat History and TV 1000 Balkans.
AKOS adds that the public will in future be offered a package of paid domestic and foreign TV channels on the DTT network. This is following the withdrawal of some of the most viewed commercial TV channels from the FTA DTT platform (Multiplex C) in 2017.
However, whether the service will be available to viewers and which programmes will be included in it will depend on operator or providers of the service.
