Ukraine is now days away from switching off analogue TV broadcasting.
In a statement, the National Council says that on June 13 the Cabinet of Ministers amended the plan for the transition, fixing August 31 as the date analogue TV transmissions would end.
However, the National Council appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers to retain analogue services in parts of the country vulnerable to propaganda from Russia and where the public broadcaster and local companies do not have digital licences. This was taken into account in amendments to the resolution on July 18.
There is currently a major publicity campaign under way to inform the public about the analogue switch off.
The regulator has previously appealed to distributors to maximise the supply of digital receivers.
