Eins Energie and Entega choose Zattoo for IPTV

August 14, 2018 08.00 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German fibre-network operators Eins Energie in Sachsen and Entega in Darmstadt have selected Zattoo’s white label solution for the introduction of their multiscreen IPTV services.

In addition to internet and telephony, the two regional providers can now offer a TV service under their own brand from a single source.

The move follows the decision by network operators M-net, NetCologne, EWE TEL and BITel to use Zattoo’s TV platform for their IPTV services.

The TV product is completely hosted and managed by Zattoo, thus the companies do not have to invest in IPTV technology themselves.

As an end-to-end service provider, Zattoo covers the entire technical platform: from headend/ingest of the signals via encoding/transcoding to the delivery of the finished IPTV streams into the companies’ local networks.

The customers decide whether they want to watch the TV service on their TV set using a set-top box or via apps on smartphones, tablets or PC/laptop.

For the introduction of their IPTV products, Eins Energie and Entega use the framework contract Zattoo concluded with German cable operator association DNMG in April 2015.
