This, according to the company, is double the number a year ago.
Commenting on the development, Jean-François Fallacher, CEO of Orange Polska, said: “We are happy that Poles are increasingly choosing Orange Swiatlowod (Fibre-Optic). All the more so because over 80% of customers who opt for fibre-optic internet come to us from the competition. After the third year of our investment programme, 10% of homes and companies within the reach of fibre-optic have become our customers. We see that customers appreciate its unmatchable quality and capabilities”.
Orange Polska’s fibre-optic network now reaches 116 cities in Poland and in 34 of these over half of homes can receive services.
The biggest coverage is in the towns of Lublin, Olsztyn, Elblag, Slupsk and Opole.
The company plans to invest PLN4 billion (€936 million) on the network between 2016-20 and to eventually reach 5 million homes.
