Aura, the digital assistant run by Telefónica on its Movistar platform, has clocked up 470,000 users in three months.
The artificial intelligence device was introduced on the Android operating system on April 19 and was brought in for iOS users on May 10.
The Aura Movistar + app allows users to search via voice by genre, actor and director. It also puts forward its own suggestions.
Qualative research released by Telefonica suggests customers are highly positive about the product. Nine out of ten respondents have stated that users continue to use Aura and recommend the service. Half said that Aura had improved their satisfaction with the product.
First seen at last year’s Mobile World Congress, Aura is currently available across six countries; Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Germany, Spain and the UK. In Spain it’s planned to extend Aura into a new product known as Movistar Home, which will be a central hub for managing services in the home.
