UPC subscribers in in the eastern part of Slovakia were unable to receive TV, internet and telephony services late last week.
Zive reports that this was due to the removal of fibre-optic cables between Kosice and Presov, adding that the incident took place before 8am on Friday, August 3 and was gradually resolved during the day.
It was caused by an unknown person and affected users in Kosice, Presov, Bardejov and Sabinov. The police began an investigation on Friday.
Zive notes that UPC has been hit by similar incidents both last December in Bratislava and on two occasions in 2012.
Orange and Slovak Telekom have also experienced similar blackouts in the past.
