OTT service player widens offer

August 7, 2018 10.45 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Polish OTT service player.pl has added a number of proprietary channels from nc+ to its offer.

It has also increased the amount of content it provides free of charge to subscribers.

The new channels are Kuchnia+, Domo+, teleTOON+ and MiniMini+, while the free content includes documentaries from Planete+, stories from MiniMini+ and clips from a comedy series produced by teleTOON+.

Commenting on the development, Maciej Gozdowski, the director of player, said: “Thanks to cooperation with nc+, we can make our programmes available to our viewers free of charge. This is another stage in the implementation of the strategy of expanding the availability of content that can be used free of charge.

“Now, viewers have not only free access to the TVN and MTV group’s offer, but also to the extensive library of programmes from the nc + portfolio”.

Edyta Sadowska, VP programming nc+, added: “Polish productions of the nc + platform are a guarantee of high quality – not only substantive, but also technological. They enjoy a special interest from our viewers and that’s why we are convinced that the cooperation with the player service will allow us to expand the community focused around our channels”.

Player.pl offers viewers live channels and programmes, films and series on demand.

Its users can also access player+, which is co-produced with nc+ and provides over 40 live TV channels, a library of films and series from (amongst others) TVN and Canal+ and HBO without commercials and the requirement to commit long-term.
