The Czech broadcaster FTV Prima has not ruled out the possibility of launching a second channel aimed specifically at the Slovak market.
Speaking in a wide ranging interview with Zive, FTV Prima’s CEO Marek Singer said that although offering Prima Zoom in Slovakia remains a long term objective due to rights issues, Prima has not given up on the idea and it would make sense to offer the channel.
Significantly, when discussing Prima Plus, the first Prima channel aimed at Slovakia, Singer said that in terms of its content the company was now looking at what works better in Slovakia rather than the Czech Republic. He also categorically ruled out closing the channel.
Singer also dismissed the possibility that Prima might produce 4K content or launch a channel in the format. In his view, demand is not big enough.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Prima has been active in Slovakia since the beginning of 2017.
Marek Singer first hinted at the prospect of launching more channels aimed specifically at the country a year ago.
