Sports portal DAZN will continue to broadcast the matches of the highest French football league, Ligue 1, live in Germany and Austria in the next three seasons.
The rights package of which financial details were not disclosed is rounded off by the matches of the Coupe de France, which DAZN sublicenses from Sport1, the Coupe de la Ligue and selected matches of the Ligue 2.
Ligue 1 has been an important part of DAZN’s football portfolio in Germany and Austria from the beginning, said Thomas de Buhr, executive vice president of DAZN in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. “We are therefore very pleased to be able to continue showing football fans the matches from the league of the new world champion.”
The Ligue 1 season will kick off on August 10, 2018 with the match between Olympique Marseille and Toulouse. DAZN will transmit the game live from 20.45 CET.
