Eutelsat has posted better than expected results, delivering on its financial objectives for the second year in a row.
CEO Rodolphe Belmer said the renewal of the Hotbird neighbourhood demonstrated its design-to-cost policy enabling the Paris-based operator to “reduce our capex envelope in the coming years”.
Channel count was up 4.5% with an increase in HD penetration of 21%. It follows new business from SFR-Altice at 5 degrees West, Mediaset at Hotbird (13 degrees East) and XtraTV at the 9 degrees East orbital position. There have also been Hotbird renewals for Cyfrowy Polsat and TVN.
Revenues for the year ending June 30, 2018, stood at €1,407.9 million, down 1.9% on a like-for-like basis.
A 5% dividend increase, said Belmer, demonstrated the confidence in the future of the company.
