France 24 has signed new distribution agreements in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Swaziland and Zambia, significantly increasing its presence across English-speaking Africa, where it now reaches over 14 million households.
In South Africa a distribution agreement was signed with Media Core Group, adding France 24’s English channel to the operator’s new satellite package on IS20.
In Kenya Safaricom’s 28 million subscribers can now download France 24’s mobile phone application on the digital platform of Kenya’s main mobile network operator.
In Nigeria, France 24 struck a deal with TVC Communications and was added to the PlayTV package on Astra 2F. It is now also available as part of operator IPTV Pupil Communications Limited’s offer.
In Swaziland a new distribution deal signed with Swaziland’s public television, brings France 24 free-to-air on a specific DTTV channel and broadcast free-to-air from 12pm to 6am on public channel Swazi TV.
In Zambia France 24 has struck a distribution agreement with Muvi TV adding the international news channel to operator Eutelsat 7B’s satellite offer.
